Child's Play
These paintings
illustrate a moment captured in the life of a child - defining
moments of "Child's Play" with all its joys, tears,
accomplishments and fears. Captured in metaphor in some
of these paintings is the parent or guardian, absent in
the picture but ever present, observing, responding and
guiding the child.
These paintings,
some of which are presented in a scale much larger than
life size, explore the many interesting and complex stages
of childhood development. They attempt to reveal a tender
and vulnerable being that at the same time possesses an
inner sense of self along with a strong dose of defiant
independence.
